Saga Arashiyama Bird & Flower Garden

This exhibition introduces masterpieces of flower and bird paintings by Japanese painters active from 18th century to 20th century.
This is a perfect summer holiday project where children and adults alike can enjoy learning about the birds' calls, ecology and the meaning of flowers while looking at the paintings.

You’re beautiful ～ Bijin-ga from Fukuda Collection

In early summer 2024, the Saga Arashiyama in Kyoto will be filled with the bloom of beauties. Co-organized with the nearby Fukuda Art Museum, visitors will enjoy approximately 190 paintings of beautiful women from the Fukuda Collection.

Top notch: The Tale of Genji

The Tale of Genji, the world's oldest full-length novel, was written by Murasaki Shikibu. The novel has transcended the millennium and continues to be loved to this day, has often been used as a subject for paintings since ancient times. This exhibition introduces Japanese paintings depicting The Tale of Genji with commentary on each scene.

Edo Paintings A to Z - Jakuchu, Hokusai and more

A special exhibition of Edo paintings will be co-held Arashiyama in autumn with Fukuda Art Museum.
This exhibition introduces not only information on the artists and their works, but also basic knowledge of Edo painting and points of appreciation through the excellent Edo paintings in the Fukuda Art Museum's collection. The exhibition is suitable not only for connoisseurs, but also for those who have never come into contact with Edo paintings before.
