Animals Unite!

In this exhibition we will be showing works that feature the 12 animals that were chosen to represent the zodiac and the works that feature cats, an animal that was not chosen to represent the zodiac.

Ōkyo & Rosetsu - Edo Paintings for Beginners -

When it comes to the paintings of Edo era (1603 - 1868), you should not miss these two great artists of Kyoto, Maruyama Ōkyo and his subordinate Nagasawa Rosetsu.
We exhibit their various works including this cute dogs drawings, hoping anyone can enjoy their fabulous artworks.

THE Hyakunin Isshu - One Hundred Poets, One Poem Each

On 23 February 2020, the competitive karuta tournament ‘The First Chihayafuru Ogurayama Cup’ will be held at the museum. To commemorate the tournament, we are holding a special exhibition 'THE Hyakunin Isshu - - One Hundred Poets, One Poem Each' in the hope that the fascination of the culture of Hyakunin Isshu will once again be widely known.
