As of 10 January 2025, snowfall is forecasted in many parts of the country and transport timetables are expected to be disrupted.

The museum will be temporarily closed at 6am if a special heavy snow warning is issued for Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, or the area including Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, and the museum deems it dangerous.
If the warning is still in effect at 11am, the museum will be temporarily closed for the whole day.
If the warning is lifted before 11am, the museum will open at 1pm.
