Minamoto-no-Toshiyori-ason
(c. 1055-1129 C.E.)Son of Tsunenobu, he served as a musician in the court of Emperor Horikawa. Though he was not of high rank, he compiled the Kinyoshu waka collection on the command of Shirakawa-in.

I prayed with all my heart to the Hatsuse Kannon that I could win you. I didn’t pray that you would become as cold as the winds billowing down from the hills of Hatsuse.
